Be Aware: Eclipse 500/550 Operators Operators of the Eclipse Aviation 500/550 models should be aware that the main manufacturer and supplier of key parts for this aircraft is going out of business. Resurgent Aviation Solutions (RAS) has been trying to sell the company but appears to have not attracted meaningful interest to furnish a satisfactory sale. Therefore, the company is liquidating all of its inventory.
Auctions on finished goods will commence immediately from May 22 through to the end of August. “We would suggest assuming that every item of interest is the last one, as it may well be,” RAS said. There are limited numbers of critical parts, including autopilot servos. The shortage of these servos will likely create big problem as it expects that approximately 30 Eclipse jets per year will become unairworthy. Given the total number of the type built is around 260 aircraft, that means there is less than 8 years for the entire fleet of Eclipse 500/550s.
“We understand our place in the Eclipse ecosystem, and the void liquidation will create. We have been working for the last few months on making the liquidation process as efficient as possible and creating as many opportunities for you to keep your aircraft flying as possible. We can only share in your disappointment that we have reached this point.”
It really is the end for RAS and as a consequence for Eclipse 500/550 customers. RAS is not selling any of the equipment or tooling either as they say their equipment will be going to an industrial shredder to be destroyed. “As we look around the facility at all the tools and test equipment we have built, and all the inventory we have acquired, and the repair process we developed, we are truly heartbroken that we have no successor to build upon our work. We tried.” For more information: Resurgent Aviation Solutions, LLC 2819 Village Green Drive, Unit C. Aurora, Il www.resurgent.aero ***
